"As chairman of the State Agency for Child Protection, I would like to share that it is essential to ensure 4 things: the right of access to education for every child; quality and inclusive education; guaranteeing the well-being of every child - their physical, mental and emotional health and last but not least providing children with a safe environment.


I believe that with this seminar each of us will leave more confident, enriched and secure in the decisions to be made in the unusual 2020/2021 school year. Together we will achieve more for the children with positivity and knowledge."


With these words the Chairman of the State Agency for Child Protection Dr. Eleonora Lilova opened the two-day training seminar for principals and experts of educational institutions, dedicated to the models for distance learning in a digital environment in the Bulgarian educational system and the organization of work during an epidemiological situation.


The forum was held in the period of 10-11 September 2020 in Inter Expo Center, Sofia in partnership with the University of Plovdiv "P. Hilendarski”, Regional directorate of education - Sofia-city, the Union of Employers in the System of Public Education in Bulgaria, the Association of Principals in the System of Education in the Republic of Bulgaria.


The purpose of its implementation is to support the heads of educational institutions in Bulgaria by getting acquainted with the necessary organizational models and measures for work in a pandemic environment, the operational steps in a crisis situation, models for the development of children's strengths, support on working specific cases with children and families, secure data management and digital skills in blended / hybrid learning.


The official opening of the event was supported by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Mrs. Denitsa Sacheva, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Tanya Mihailova, the Director of the National Inspectorate of Education Dr. Anelia Andreeva and others.


On the first day of the forum, the main topics presented were the development of children's strengths, digital skills and online communication, operations in the cloud, steps for the principal in crisis situations and the principal aiding the pedagogical specialists in implementing distance learning.


On the second day the training program was focused on the organization of the new 2020/2021 school year in the epidemiological situation, therefore the mayor of Sofia Ms. Yordanka Fandakova, the Minister of Education and Science Mr. Krassimir Valchev and Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev - Chief State Health Inspector of the Republic of Bulgaria took a special part in the forum.
